Hannibal, Missouri

After arriving at camp, we decided to drive back into town. On the way, we saw a drive to Lovers Leap, drove to top and the view was great of the Mississippi River and of town. Lovers leap is known for two Indian tribes, one on Illinois and one on Missouri side of river. A girl and boy from each side came together and fell in love, the Indians fathers didn't like this and the one decided to kill the boy when they found them there, the two decided to jump off the ledge and that's the legion.

Friday evening, we had social hour and a buffet dinner at Lula Belles Restaurant, great food and conversation. The was an old brothel house in it's day.

Saturday morning we had a trolley ride through town, they had picked us up at the campground.

After our trolley ride in the morning, we had a ride on the Mark Twain Mississippi Riverboat.

That evening we went to Mark Twain Himself, Richard Garey brings the famous political wit and wisdom of Mark Twain to life. Combining hilarious comedy, biting satire, and lifetime of observation, this live stage show, all in Mark Twain's own words, could have been written last week. This guy traveled all over the world portraying Mark Twain and does a great job.

Today we had a free day, we decided to go back into town and do the walking tour of Interpretive Center, Mark Twain Boyhood Home, Huckleberry Finn House, Becky Thatcher House, Clemens Justice Office Grants Drug Store. I had really enjoyed this, Ken never read these books so he didn't really enjoy them, he did learn a lot through the museum.
