Glacier National Park, Montana

Friday, August 2, we left the campground right after breakfast, the Barn Dance campground made for us, oatmeal with ice cream and fruit. We drove down to the border, which took an hour to get through, we're lucky because some of the people on the caravan had to wait 4 hours to get through. We got to the campground, dropped the trailer and headed east to Cut Bank, about 65 miles away to get a prescription for Ken that the doctors office called in for us. We picked up the prescription and got some groceries, which the pharmacy was in an Albertson store, stopped at McDonalds and then headed back to camp, arriving about 5:30. There was still some of our group pulling in after 6 pm. It had rained all day while driving, this was really the only second day that it has rained while traveling.

Saturday, August 2, it was still raining when we got up, so I did a few loads of laundry, when I was done the sun started to shine and it was clearing up. At 3:45, 3 jammer buses came to pick us all up, we had rode on the Go-To-The-Sun Road to Logan Pass which is the highest point on the road. We got out, ate our packed lunches, walked around a little, and got back on the jammers. We had stopped a couple times while traveling to take a couple of pictures of scenery, longhorn sheep, and a black bear.

We had returned back to camp about 8 pm. What a pleasant day after the rain had passed.

Sunday, August 4, we left again this morning went for a drive to Many Glacier to see the Hotel, while driving there we saw a brown bear and on the way back out, we saw a black bear.

On the way back, we had stopped at Two Sisters Restaurant for some pie and ice cream, not cheap. We then continued down to a Scenic Looking Glass drive and then into East Glacier Park. We then continued onto the town of Browning, MT. which is on and Indian Reservation, fueled up, got a few groceries and then continued back to camp. While driving these back scenic drives, there are range free cattle and horses at different areas.

At 5pm, we had happy hour and then a hot dog roast and then a drivers meeting for the next two stops. After the meeting we were asked to bring a microwaveable mug and spoon, they put cake mix, water in our mugs, microwaved that for one minute and then put ice cream on top. It was like a little cake in the mug and ice cream, very good and different, would do this again.
